Soak up the Magnificent Mudgee Region

DAY 1: (MT,L,D) TUNCURRY TO MUDGEE
Wednesday 27th April 2022

Welcome to an unforgettable week away with Tuncurry Coach Tours as we soak up the very best of what this region has to offer. Our first day of travel takes us through the Hunter region where we will stop for morning tea at the Hunter Valley Chocolate Factory. We continue on to Merriwa where we will stop for lunch and view our first famous painted silo.

The last leg of the days’ journey will see us passing through Dunedoo and its painted silo right into beautiful Mudgee. Lisa and Adam have something special planned for you when we arrive this afternoon, which will be the perfect way to begin your amazing time here in the Mudgee region.

DAY 2: (B,AT,D) MOSYING IN MUDGEE
Thursday 28th April 2022

Following a hearty breakfast, we are joined on the coach by a locally based guide who will deliver a tour of the town. Mudgee is full of beautiful old stately buildings that are a huge part of the heritage and grand architecture of the town. After our history and sight-seeing tour we will have free time in the Mudgee Township to enjoy and peruse the quaint local shops and quirky cafes. Lunch today will be at your own expense. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent at Gooree Park on the outskirts of town.

Gooree Park is not only home to fine wines and beautiful scenery, it is also the home of champion thoroughbreds. We will be taken on a tour of the stud, topped off with wine tasting of their superb wine collection and afternoon tea. A perfect way to top off the day prior to heading back to the Resort to relax before dinner.

DAY 3: (B,MT,AT,D) EXPLORING GULGONG
Friday 29th April 2022

Today our sightseeing takes us to the small town of Gulgong, where Henry Lawson grew up. We will see the charming buildings with iron laced verandahs while listening to the historic tales from our local tour guide. We will have free time in Gulgong to purchase your lunch and visit the Henry Lawson Centre which is dedicated to Lawson’s life and literary works or visit the Holtermann collection. Gulgong amazingly, also has its own Opera House. The Prince of Wales Opera House has a long history and it is here that we will experience a performance of Tales of the Swag.
After a day full of history, we make our way back to Mudgee where we will stop in at the Olive Nest, which was established by three Mudgee olive growers. These olive growers produce not only olives but exceptional extra virgin olive oil. Our afternoon will be spent relaxing and sampling their many great taste sensations.

DAY 4: (B,MT,L,AT,D) HISTORIC HILL END
Saturday 30th April 2022

This morning we make our way south to the gold mining town of Hill End. Here we will participate in a half day guided tour including a visit to a Goldfield, Golden Gully, Lookouts, Cemetery, Hill End Town Village History and Gold Panning Tours. As you take in the history of this area, morning tea and lunch will be served.

In keeping with the wonderful wine and produce themed afternoons in Mudgee we make our final stop for the day at the High Valley Wine and Cheese Co for another opportunity to fill up your take home hamper with Mudgee goodies.

DAY 5: (B,L) MUDGEE TO TUNCURRY
Sunday 1st May 2022

Following breakfast, we farewell Mudgee and make our first stop this morning at the Mudgee Honey Haven. After leaving Mudgee, we continue our journey home with lunch along the way. This afternoon sit back and relax as we make our final leg of the journey home having experienced the Mudgee Region like never before.
