The Road Less Travelled Day Trip

Take the road less travelled and discover the hidden gems of the Macleay Valley and the foothills of Yarrahapinni Mountain along Coastal Route 14. Journey beyond the usual tourist trail as we explore the beautiful coastal communities of Scotts Head, Grassy Head and Stuarts Point, travelling scenic back roads and winding country roads that reveal sweeping landscapes and plenty of local character along the way. Enjoy a morning tea stop at Ricardoes Tomatoes, before continuing to Macnuts, where you can experience one of the region’s much-loved macadamia nut producers. Discover how macadamias are grown and processed locally, browse a selection of delicious macadamia products and take the opportunity to pick up some regional produce to enjoy at home.

We will include a delicious lunch in Macksville before touring through the coastal landscapes of Scotts Head, Grassy Head and Stuarts Point. Coastal Route 14 is more than a day trip—it’s a chance to slow down, take the scenic road, meet local producers and uncover the authentic beauty and flavours of the Macleay Valley and the foothills of Yarrahapinni Mountain.
